John Chu, the Owner and President of the Chu Investment Group, established CIG in 1999 to provide credible and clear financial advice for clients. Credible: As an independent adviser, CIG does not sell any products, but instead offers only advice and fee based services. CIG acts as a fiduciary for the client which means CIG places the interest of customers first, and CIG fully discloses compensation and potential conflicts of interest. Other firms may provide or receive incentives to sell expensive and/or recommend high margin proprietary products that benefits the firm more than the client. As part of this policy, CIG discloses that the company is a part-time business. John Chu is employed full time as a Market Research and Planning Manager of an Orange County Technology Company. Education and Qualifications of John Chu: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Davis and a Minor in Japanese - Graduated with High Honors Masters of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia Certified Financial Professional, CFP, Exam qualifying coursework from the University of California Extension at Irvine Series 7 Stockbroker Securities License Series 65 Investment Adviser Securities License California Taxpayer Education Council, CTEC, Registered Tax Preparer A135733 Clear: Managing money is not taught in the everyday school curriculum, but learned the hard way through first hand experience or passed down by your family’s money habits. Learning by making mistakes is not the best way of handling your money, especially when there are a lot of obstacles such official sounding but unethical salesmen trying to trick you out of your hard earned savings. CIG will explain and educate clients about finance in appropriate terms, so that clients will understand their situation and receive customized recommendations to take. The client will be in better control of their financial situations and better know what it will take to make and reach goals in their lives. CIG strives to avoid financial jargon as much as possible and deliver as much information you need and want to know in your customized advice.
